Dear Members,

The Republican Convention will be held in Tampa Bay in August, and big event such as this creates opportunities for various products and services.
The Tampa Bay Host Committee would like to have small, diverse or women-owned businesses to take part in this great opportunity.

There is a meeting about this on Thursday, 19th January, at 9 a.m. at the Safety Harbor Resort and Spa. The address is 105 N. Bayshore Dr., Safety Harbor, FL 34695. www.safetyharborspa.com/ You are invited to attend.

It is well known that government and many national/international corporations are seeking diversity in their suppliers and service providers. However, theiy often require the diverse business entity to have the proper certification. Previously, CCCTB invited USF-SBDC to our event and educated our members about the certification process and requirements. The certification program is for businesses, such as
- 51% minority-owned business
- 51% women owned business
- disadvantaged small business (low revenue - often very small or start-up business)
- a small business (there are several types of categories)
- a small business in an area that needs development (hubzone)
AND the business has been in operation for two years.

If you are interested to learn more about the Certification program, please contact USF-SBD. http://www.sbdctampabay.com/training/course-descriptions/womenminority-certification
You may also want to check out other Courses and Business Consultation offered by USF-SBDC.

May the Year of Dragon be a propsperous one for you.
