Professor Zou Zhendong of Xiamen University will give a talk “Studies in Public Opinion: the Principle of the “Weak” in Contemporary China” on Tuesday, September 6 at 6:30 pm in Gore Recital Hall in the Roselle Center for the Arts. (厦大网红教授邹振东九月六日星期二来特拉华大学做讲座!)
His talk will focus on how social media shapes public opinion in China and how public opinion and social sentiments are capable of exerting influence on society.
Dr. Zou is a renowned Professor of Journalism and Communications at Xiamen University, one of the best institutions in China. Before joining the Xiamen University faculty, Dr. Zou was the Executive Editor-in-Chief of Xiamen Media Group, the Founding Director of Xiamen’s Satellite TV Channel, as well as the Chairman of the Xiamen Association of TV Artists and Professionals. Dr. Zou has published extensively on the study of public opinion in China. He is also the recipient of China’s prestigious National Social Science Foundation Research Grant.
