有一个朋友一开始不敢在荷兰生孩子。她说她有个朋友曾经可能分娩有些困难，医生就把胎儿的胳膊生生拧骨折了才扯出来。:P 这故事听起来就恐怖。她回国一趟本来准备生孩子，结果又因为什么原因，还是回荷兰生了，还算顺利。在荷兰分娩，都要宫颈开口足够大才可以进医院[1]，而 在支那（估计日本也是），是羊水破了就进医院待产了。荷兰的医生看了会认为还没到时间呢，而第一次分娩的母亲都会很惊恐不知所措。而且生完了一天内就出 院，许多人第二次分娩在家里，由接生看护专业人员辅助。这让许多人感到很不放心。大部分亚洲人归结为荷兰女人非常强壮的缘故，而荷兰人也许认为生育不是疾 病，不当作病人看待。一个在荷兰工作的日本朋友觉得，日本对孕妇的照料，前期太多，而荷兰则后期太草率。因此她选择综合两者，前期在荷兰，最近快生了就回 日本去待产了。生完孩子可以在医院住几天。支那传统的坐月子究竟是迷信还是保健必需，至今莫衷一是。

还有曾经看到新闻报道，说在荷兰有 1/3 死亡的病人都是本来可以避免的医疗事故导致的。暂时找不到原文。

HEERLEN - The Inspectorate for Health Care (IGZ) threatens the Atrium Hospital in Heerlen to be subject to increased supervision if it does not take swift action after the suspicious deaths of two patients. They died this spring because of suffocation after they were tied in bed.

The IGZ found that the Atrium was completely wrong for the two patients who later deceased, confirmed by a spokesman of Atrium Saturday in a news report in the newspaper AD.  Atrium said in their own words that they have already taken actions to prevent the recurrence.

Swedish band
Atrium also confirmed the death of the third patient at the end of 2006.  This one was also tied up and choked.
According to IGZ the Atrium did too little done to prevent recurrence since that accident.

Before the two patients who were tied with a so-called Swedish band,  one personnel who strangled himself half years ago already found the unsafe situation.
Nevertheless, little was done at that time.

The Swedish band is a controversial method and is used on restless patients to protect themselves. Hospitals must abide by strict rules to use the Swedish band.
According to IGZ, the Atrium did insufficiently.

Similar conclusions
Apart from the IGZ study, Board of Management of Atrium also conducted an investigation and reached similar conclusions.  Since then, Atrium has taken measures to prevent recurrence, according to the spokesman.
