Hello all dear Colleagues
The initial idea making the mailing list is to have a platform for the Chinese in Campeon to share / discussion/ broadcast news, updates, activities, etc.
If it disturbs you, you will still want to get the update of the Chinese activities in Campeon. Instead un-subscribing the mailing list you have four options

- No Email
will read this group on the web

- Abridged Email
Get a summary of new activity each day

- Digest Email
Get up to 25 full new messages bundled into a single email

- Email
Send each message to me as it arrives

Your default setting is "Email", you can change the setting to reduce the number of messages from the list.
If you don't know how to do it, please let me know. I will help you.

BTW:
The mailing list is nothing to do with the Mai Garten Lunch Order. The weekly menu update is sent by Mai Garten directly, not via this mailing list.

Best regards,
Jun LIU

Hi,

Sure, the idea of this mailing list is "to share / discussion/ broadcast news, updates, activities, etc.". This naturally entails receiving information (and discussions like this one ;-) ) about topics you are not interested in.

Yet, the discussions, information etc. should have some general appeal - whether that is true for "I wanna ride in your car, too." is, in my view, disputable. I would therefore like to support Song Jingjing's proposal to discuss the particular organization of an event in a the smaller circle of the persons who actually showed interest.

The often used "if you don't like how I use the mailing list, then unsubscribe" argument is - as long as you don't show that your mails refer to the mailing list's goal - hollow. (If you don't like bullies, move to another town? If you don't wanna be run over, don't leave the house?).

Of course, the number of mails received per day can also be reduced by technical means as proposed by Liu Jun, but then Song Jingjing will miss the chance to get a spot in the car... so that's not really a solution, more like changing the side of the street when seeing a bully.

Maybe, just maybe, we can instead stop a moment before sending the next mail to the list and consider whether we are addressing all its subscribers or only a handful of them.

Thanks,
Michael

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your opening discussion. But I am just asking myself how we know "the smaller circle of the persons who actually showed interest" at the first time and how we do not know we will invoke the interest from others through such discussion, who will not" miss the chance to get a spot in the car..." either. :)

Moreover, I am wondering what is the definition of "the discussions, information etc. should have some general appeal". Only a topic related with a BBQ-Party in summer or a chinese new year party?

In fact, I can understand Song Jingjing somehow. Perhaps it is not so good for her that so many "private" email to office mailbox. Therefore, I suggest perhaps we can register this mailbox list with our private mail like gmail and yahoo etc.

This is just my 2 cents. Now you (not only Michael :) ) can throw something on me. :-)

I don't wanna spend more time on this. just a quick one and no more
further. sorry for this last "spam":

please don't mix up the concept. your metaphor is inappropriate.
joining a mailing list and complaining about the mails is like you go
to a disco and said "oh, bullshit, it is so loud here. please be
quite, OK?" would the others listen to you and be quite? I guess not.
if you want silence, go to a jazz bar, don't go the disco. similar
story with the mailing list.

and I don't know, technically whether it is possible to filter out the
mail receivers (small circle) in this mailing list. and song
jingjing's proposal obviously would need more effort. who would be
responsible for that? I don't know.

and and, this is not working mailing list of course, so registering
with private email and checking it regularly everyday/even weekly
would be a good idea. then the mails will not bother everyday work.

Hi all,

This is not a new feature that outlook support mail "Rules".

You can simply filter with sender contains " chinese_campeon " to another folder e.g. "Chinese Campeon" folder, so it will not bother your working mail and you can check it whenever you have time.

Best Regards

a. I don't think the messages are bullies. Yesterday someone asked me, why she is not informed about the news. These messages might be a spam for someone, also might be a normal or useful information for the others.

b. I am not quite agree with the bullies and house example.
I am agree, If you are already living there, and then bullies come after, we should do something fight them.
But the case here is: A Party is started. You take part in the party by yourself. Then you realize the environment of the party is not you like. You won't leave, won't accept the four options to make you feel better. You just want the people change the environment for you. Is it reasonable? Even that "bully" is not a "bully" for everyone.

c. I recommend to subscribe the mailing list with your private email.

d. LengTao's suggestion making the RULES in our outlook is good. It works well by me.

e. This mailing list is for the Chinese in Campeon for share / discuss......... Next mail I will send in Chinese.

Again: The mailing list is nothing to do with the Mai Garten Lunch Order. The weekly menu update is sent by Mai Garten directly, not via this mailing list.
If you don't know how to change the receive option or want to un-subscribe, please contact me.

Please end this discussion about this topic.

Hi all,

First of all, I apologize for the 'bully metaphor'. I did not want to imply that anyone on the list is a bully.

I only wanted to highlight that "if you don't like it here, go elsewhere" is not an argument, but a way to state that one is not interested in the other's view.

I think that the suggestion to be a bit more forthcoming when writing mails is worth considering, that's all.

Have a good day,

am late bird to the party, but some Dxxchebags jerking around in the loop is making me sick.
Ms.Song, aside from mesmerizing your high school computer whims, you ever come to a chinese lunch gathering, a BBQ, a sport event?
Liu Jun set up a nice platform to share ideas, what's your contribution? babbling with your 'Sophisticated Deutsch'?
for those who need dictionary to understand the word 'gratitude'&'kindness',  I have two words for them:
SOD OFF!
现在开始,建议此loop用中文,省得被老外看笑话。
