I have an eight year old patient (boy) who has horrible itching from his eczema.  He started getting eczema at 3 years old behind knees and it spread to elbows and then all over. He has seen an allergist and after allergy work up twice his allergies are 'all' tree pollens and 'all' grass pollens. No foods, nor dust mites.  He has been under the care of a dermatologist and allergist. He has been on steroids (oral) twice for  edema of his eyes (conjuncitival)  and his skin cleared up momentarily while on the steroids, but as soon as the steroids stopped, his skin flared back up.  They put him on oral antibiotics 6-8 times in the last two years for his skin.  I put him on daily probiotics 5 months ago and sent him to an acupuncturist then too. He has been the best he's ever been but still has the red parts you see in the photos and diffuse dry itchy skin. He can't sleep well for itching (the red ares in the photos) and his scalp. He is very angry about having to do creams when parents put this stuff on him. He says he hates his life and yells that his parents "are mean".  They did Efram's egg treatment twice a day for about 2 months while starting acupuncture and the acupuncturist started him on the meds in the photo, quercitin nettles, fish oil and Wu Wei.  The photos show where his skin is now.
> Birth history: He was born at 38 weeks by cesarian due to failure to progress when mom dilated and got stuck at 5cm. Was formula fed on standard cows milk based formula till 12 months then changed to organic whole milk.  No issues till 3 years old, that's when mom was pregnant with his sister. His eczema has gotten worse every year.  He is all about touching and contacting mom and competing for her attention with his sister.  I sent the photos in separate emails.  the meds he has been on and pictures of his skin and him.  with his permission of course.

> I want to help his itch and his anger.  Please give me suggestions. Thank you so much.

Cheryl, sorry its taken me a while to respond....the anger part is definitely part of the frustration cycle...as you know, eczema is like a burn and causes the scratching which then exacerbates the cycle........especially in Fire kids....
aloe seems to help calm the burning but I'm getting great results from coconut oil with probiotics added -
also there is something called Emily's skin soother
which works really well....
in terms of mood I would want more constitutional info...what's his passion, his fears etc....
but try giving him Bach flower remedy AGRIMONY which is about the water-fire-metal triad....
