Hello wonderful group.  I was at Children's Hospital in Oakland today to see a 7 week old baby who was in an auto accident on Wednesday where the car rolled, the 18 yr old mother was hit in the head and broke her left clavicle but still had the wherewithal to get herself and her son, Jasper, out of the car before it continued to roll down into the river near Arcata.  They were flown to the Children's hospital in Oakland.  Jasper did poop when he first arrived at the hospital Wednesday but not since.  He was given an MRI which reveled a small amount of blood from the brain.  He was discharged on Thursday and they drove north and got a hotel room.  Within hours Jasper was projectile vomiting and they took him to a rural emergency room where they were not going to be able to see him for 45 min so they returned to Oakland.
They were told not to feed him for seven hours.  This afternoon he breast fed for about 10 min.  Then he was fussy and did not want anymore and this is when I arrived.  His mom pumped some and I used lavender oil and did ac-tonics on his father as he held him and he slept.  Once he was put down to sleep he woke up and his father bottle fed him and burped him and he fell asleep again.  When he was put down again he vomited some of the milk back up and had hiccups.  I rubbed P6 and St 36 while his dad held him.
I did some ac-tonics on his mom because she has fear of needles.  I gave her some arnica homeopathic pill but held off a formula because she is breastfeeding.
The neurologist was going to come by to see if he needed further testing.
So he is there under observation for now.  He looks remarkably unscathed by this accident with no visible bruises.  He grandmother can still make him coo and smile.  When he cries it's full of strength but does not go on endlessly like he's in extreme pain and I saw no tears.  I am just hoping it's rebellious qi from the accident.  If he is still there tomorrow I will go back.
Any insight or input is appreciated, thank you. Louisa

PS.  is this group meeting this year at all?

Hi Louisa,

Sounds like you are on an errand of mercy. Anyway, it also sounds like the baby did suffer a concussion. Only time will tell whether or not there’s been any severe or lasting damage. You could do a little actonic, i.e. tuning fork, treatment on the baby’s Du 20, Yin Tang, GB 20, Du 16 and Ki 1. I would start with Ki 1 (the emergency point along with Du 26) and work your way up to Du 20. Ren 4 and 12 would also be good. And let’s not forget LI 4 and St 36 for regulating the Qi of the TB.
