Hi All,

I hope everyone has been enjoying the holiday weekend. My patient just delivered her 4th boy less than 2 weeks ago. She is being treated for mastitis and now has thrush (along with baby).

I heard Yin Care is great but I don't know how safe it is with a newborn. I can suggest using it as a poultice on her but it doesn't help the little one. I would appreciate any suggestions!

Warmly,
Hyeon-Jin

Try giving mom and baby oral sacharomyces boulardii.

Where can I buy this? I came up empty on my Goggle search. I can find one for adults on Emerson Ecologics. Thanks!

You don’t need much for the baby - an 1/8 tsp rubbed around the inside of his cheeks.

Mother's love cream is good...if you need a pedes brand of sacch b.  try FLorastor Kids - apply to mom's breast as a paste (with olive oil) after feeding...you can also apply tiny amount to babys tongue.
Was baby born by C-sect or natural?

Mystery solved! After making a home visit, I didn't think it looked like thrush. She saw her midwife the next day and figured out the little one (and momma) was tongue and lip tied. Doctors fixed him all up using lasers and both are very happy now.

Stephen - He was delivered vaginally. I read an article that's how baby gets their first probiotics.

Thank you for your recommendations as I'm sure I'll use it in the future!
