How soon should I-485 be filed after PD is current?

I'm submitting a I-140 and I'm with a J1 visa. So I have to leave US after it is filed and wait for my PD.

So about 5 years later, when my PD is current, I have to move back to US to file I-485.

But I'm not sure if I can have a job offer and a H1B visa to go back to US right after PD is current.

How soon should I file I-485 after PD is current. If I file it one or two years after PD is current, will it be too late? Is there any deadline?
