Hi Erin, and All,

Thanks for the invitation to join the group. While not a terribly
prolific poster hopefully I'll have something interesting and useful
to contribute as time goes by.

For those of you who do not know me well, I'm a long time gamer and
devotee of OD&D. I've always had an interest in a variety of gaming
themes and Chimera has the singular ability to allow gaming in a
variety of genres, from Medieval Fantasy to 1930s Pulp Science Fiction
and beyond. The nice thing is the integration of all within the same
system. Who knows where my imagination will take me.

I would also like to echo Greg's words and thank Erin for the invite
to join the community. I hope we will get a lively conversations
going soon.

Like many other players, my taste have changed (evolved?). I'm at a
point in my life where streamlined systems leaning towards rules-lite
has become much more attractive to me. I came back to D&D with 3rd ed
and was overjoyed with their plans for the core system to be open to
everyone allowing for other genres to use the same system. While
there were many variety of genres represented for d20, there were very
few that uniformally handled multiple genres in one book. I believe I
have found something close to it in Chimera and hope to have fun
stretching the system to see how far it will go.
