Hi,
Just created this INSTALL note for the Ubuntu 11.04-desktop. Following
these instructions, one should have chimera with a fake configuration
running. Also, I am uploading a VirtualBox vm to
http://minerva.ufsc.br/~william/chimera_vm.tar.bz2
Cheers,
William
== Chimera on UNBUNTU 11.04 ==
saods9 package was removed from ubuntu, so:
wget
http://hea-www.harvard.edu/saord/download/ds9/linux64/ds9.linux64.7.0.1.tar.gz
sudo tar zxvf ds9.linux64.7.0.1.tar.gz -C /usr/local/bin/
wget
http://hea-www.harvard.edu/saord/download/ds9/linux64/xpa.linux64.2.1.14.tar.gz
sudo tar zxvf xpa.linux64.2.1.14.tar.gz -C /usr/local/bin/
then, to install chimera from svn:
sudo apt-get install python-setuptools python-dev python-numpy
sextractor libusb-dev swig \
libcfitsio3-dev python-gtk2-dev python-gobject-dev python-pygoocanvas
python-gdl \
python-nose python-epydoc subversion
svn co
http://chimera.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/ chimera-read-only
cd chimera-read-only/
To test, open in one window the chimera server:
chimera -vvvvvvvvvv
And, on another one, play with it: =)
chimera-dome --open #If you don't open the dome, the images are all flats! ;)
chimera-tel --slew --object=NGC1055 #Move the telescope
chimera-cam -t 10 #Expose 10s (when exposing less than 10s, ds9 does
not opens automagically)
chimera-tel --slew --object=M42
chimera-cam -t 10
and so on...
