loading doom wads

whenever i try to load doom 2 as my main wad, it starts loading, but
then i get an error saying
error:getnumforname pnames not found!
something like that. please help me! thanks!

It sounds like your doom2.wad has been manipulated. You may want to re-
copy it from your retail Cd and give it another go...
...at least that's my first thought.
