I understand that there are many examples of steel structures across America, but often they are either hangars, garages, or something used for storage. It’s not like I’m planning to live in one myself, but I’ve seen examples of residential spaces too. I’m interested in the practical side. Will it be unbearably hot in the summer and cold in the winter, does the roof get loud when it rains, and how is the sound insulation overall?

Maybe I’m stating the obvious, but every house gets hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Either way, you’ll need to deal with heating and cooling regardless of what material the house is made of.

I don’t know if there are any standards for these kinds of steel structure projects. If there aren’t, then basically every company can build the way they think is best. I’m also sure you can find companies that offer projects with planned sound insulation, thermal insulation, and everything else. For example, US Patriot Steel https://www.uspatriotsteel.com/blog/metal-building-siding/. They have some great projects. It doesn’t look like a metal box from the outside, and everything inside should also be well thought out. Plus, you can always ask questions and clarify these details.
