The Wiki team has created a placeholder for all the reference data:
http://childreninnaturebayarea.wikia.com/wiki/Children_in_Nature_Bay_Area_Wiki
Each week, we are going to take major topic and ask people on the
forum to provide organizations in the bay area, who provide services
for the weekly topic. The goal is to slowly gather data, and populate
the wiki over time. It will not seem as overwhelming, if we gather the
data in small increments.
This week’s topic is Youth Gardening, so we need Bay Area
organizations providing services for the following gardening sub-
categories:
a. Healthy food
b. Community Gardens
c. Gardening Programs
d. Urban Gardens
e. School Gardens
f. Garden Curriculum
g. Gardening Reference Material
h. Gardening Organizations
i. Gardening Clubs
j. Gardening Supplies and Tools

Hi Wendy,

This morning I started entering info into the outline you provided -- is
there a format for information that would work best from your perspective?

I'll add some info on Gardening.   Is it ok for me to go ahead and add additional info? (non gardening??).

Think all we need is the following:
Organization Name:
Organization Mission:
Organization Website:
Ages Served by the Program:

Gardening sub-categories the organization covers:
a. Healthy food
b. Community Gardens
c. Gardening Programs
d. Urban Gardens
e. School Gardens
f. Garden Curriculum
g. Gardening Reference Material
h. Gardening Organizations
i. Gardening Clubs
j. Gardening Supplies and Tools

Websites will provide up to date information, so we don't want to
gather to much. If you can think of anything, let me know. I will
update the wikia, since the format is not in place at this point.
You can either send me an email or post to the google site.

You can definately add non-gardening information. I just didn't want
to overwhelm people.

We should also add:
National, Regional or specific location covered by the Organization

Hi Wendy,

I went to start entering some data in the wiki and I guess I thought
I'd find an outline like the one in this message, entitled "Youth
Gardening." It seems like a good format that would work, with the
above subtitles. Any more tips?

Thanks!

Heather

When I reviewed the format with a site designer, they thought higher
level gardening categories would work better:

http://childreninnaturebayarea.wikia.com/wiki/Activities_in_Nature

Youth Community/Urban Gardening would cover:
> > b. Community Gardens
> > c. Gardening Programs
> > d. Urban Gardens

http://childreninnaturebayarea.wikia.com/wiki/School_Gardening
> > e. School Gardens

http://childreninnaturebayarea.wikia.com/wiki/Reference_Material/Nature_Curriculum
Reference Material/Nature Curriculum- Covers
>>f. Garden Curriculum
>>g. Gardening Reference Material

Have not found a place for:
- Healthy food

These categories fall under each high level category under gardening
(Youth Community/Urban Gardening; Home Gardening; School Gardening)
> > h. Gardening Organizations
> > i. Gardening Clubs
> > j. Gardening Supplies and Tools

Hope that helps.

Hi Wendy,

I worked for a few hours last week on entries, and now need to back track
and get them into the suggested format.

Will send my info soon.

Mary
