DRUG INTERACTION
Ritonavir (Norvir), atazanavir (Reyataz),clarithromycin (Biaxin), indinavir (Crixivan), itraconazole (Sporanox),ketoconazole, nelfinavir (Viracept), and telithromycin (Ketek) may increase levels of fluticasone in the body by reducing the breakdown of fluticasone byliver enzymes. This may increase side effects of fluticasone.
MECHANISM OF ACTION
Fluticasone utilises a fluorocarbothioate ester linkage at the C17 position. It has potent vasoconstrictive and anti-inflammatory activity, but weak HPA inhibitory effect when applied topically.
