Dear Friends,
Bedari conducted a five day training of trainers (ToT). Here are the details of the training.
The five days Training of Trainers on Facilitation Skills, Child Protection and Para-Counseling was a successful beginning in initiating the process of awareness raising, skills building and knowledge initiatives in the Girl Power Programme, implemeted by Bedari n three districts of Pakistan: Multan, Vehari and Chakwal. The training was conducted at Bedari office from 14th to 18th May 2012. While a number of sessions were facilitated to impart the knowledge about Child Protection principles, in particular covering topics like Child Abuse, Child Sexual Abuse, Child Labour, Early Marriages, Harmful Practices against Children, Domestic Violence against Children, Beggary and issues of Street Children; the focus of the training remained on making it practical training by providing every participant an opportunity of hands-on experiential learning on facilitation skills. The methodologies used for conduction of the workshop included: group exercises; role plays; discussions and rotational presentations.
The second part of the training focused on Para-Counseling. As delivering counseling/protection services to the girls, boys and young women is one of the aims of the project, the field staff has been trained in how to behave, act and talk to survivors of violence who are seeking help. This training covered the theoretical approach as well as practical exercises, like role-plays.
