It is to invite all the members to join hands for registering CRM protest against the recent incidents of children suicides as reaction to corporal punishment in schools and home, as per following program;
Day: June 04,2012. Venue: outside Press Club Islamabad Time: 5-30 to 6-30
Kindly bring along with you all the like minded friends from civil society, media, educational institutions and think tanks to make our voice audible to all deaf ears and also placards expressing our condemnation of the violations of child rights and demand for required legislations to ban the corporal punishment in schools.
CRM regional chapters may carry out the activity at their regions on the same day/time to keep the spirit of solidarity…..

07:30-08:00 pm; isn’t this too late? What about 6 onwards? We can banners and play cards denouncing the growing violence against children in the country and demanding various actions including legislation, trainings, awareness etc.

I agree and hope to get confirmation from all members to be gathered on Friday Eve from 7-30 to 8-00 p.m. at our respective national and regional press clubs with banners reading relevant slogans demanding children rights and protection to be ensured by Government, educational management and civil society…….. or if any better idea could be given by any member please???
Please send your confirmations ASAP with suggested plan of action.

I am back in Lahore and can we all organize a vigil against these incidents and children in distress in Pakistan ?
Can we ask CRM group to do so with the Concerned Citizens group as well around Liberty or the Press Club on Friday?
Just a thought that there must be some activism in the public space

Media should give awareness to the children and their parents, if teachers
misbehave with the students, they should share with their parents and in

Sexual and psychological torture of teachers on students is one of the
major problems which students do not share even with their peers. This
thing also derived the students towards suicidal attempts. A bill needs to

that a rapist should hang without any mercy.
We also need to revise the curriculum according to our education system
and its ground realities, it should not be hectic which put burden on the
students. opportunities of learning by doing should be provided to the
students. This is the better way to strengthen child friendly environment.
