Dear All,

I am writing to invite you to join us in commemorating the ‘International Day for Children Living and/or Working on the Streets 2012’.

The ‘International Day for Children Living and/or Working on the Streets’ was launched on 12th April 2011 to give a louder voice to the millions of street children all around the world so their rights are not ignored. Though transforming a street child’s life is a longer process; we must never under-estimate the impact that our little initiatives, such as that of paying tribute to this day, can create on the much larger canvas - after all there is no one giant step that does it, its a lot of little steps.

In this regard, Children First and Bedari have jointly designed an event to engage, entertain and nurture a group of 25-30 children (living and/or working on the streets) as our gesture of communicating to the society and the government that this disadvantaged group needs our immediate attention and care. In the process, we aim to bring together key government officials, technical experts, CRM representatives and other prominent professionals, like yourself, who shall not only discuss a possible way forward to cater to the underlying issue of children living and/or working on the streets; but will also develop a set of tangible and pertinent policy decisions and goals with a realistic timeline.

Your presence will make this event reach its intended purpose i.e. of coming together and taking a step towards making a significant difference in the lives of this disadvantaged group of the society.

Date: April 12, 2012

Time: 1100 hours- 1400 hours.

Venue:  Faiz-Ul-Islam Complex

Murree road opposite Faizabad Bus Stand , Rawalpindi

Note: Find enclosed your invitation card.
