[Youth for Seva] Request to raise funds for 10th std students' crash course

Dear Volunteer,

As you are aware, this is the time of the year when students of Standard 10 gear up for the coming examinations in March-April. While students from private institutions have access to tutions and additional help, students from government and corporation schools often receive little or no support. Therefore, we at Youth for Seva, step in to assist the students from government and corporation schools across Bangalore by organizing a 3- day crash course.

This course is completely free of cost for the students and we bear the cost of conveyance, food, study material for the students & also the teacher's fee. We need your assistance in helping us raise funds for this course. Please see the details below and help us assist the students in successfully facing the coming examinations.

Dates: February 24^th, 25^th and 26^th, 2011

Timing: 9.30 am to 5.00 pm

No. of students expected: Over 200 from govt & corporation schools across Bangalore

Medium of instruction: Kannada (the crash-course is specifically for Kannada medium students)

Venue: Rashtrothana Parishath, Keshava Shilpa Auditorium, Chamrajpet, Near Uma Theatre

Details: The inauguration of the course will be at 9.30 am on February 24^th. Experienced teachers from reputed institutions across Bangalore will be conducting the course on different days. The topics covered will include tips on how to face examinations, improving concentration, revision and focus on specific chapters in English, Science, Mathematics and Social studies. The valedictory program will be on February 26th, at 6 pm. Expenses incurred during the 3 days will be around Rs. 40,000/- which will include

• Daily bus pass for all the students

• Food for the students and teachers

• Copies of study material for the students

• Fee for the teachers (per session)
