Have any questions?

Yes! I have so many questions...I'm learning CA as I go. I know
AutoCad so the transition has been easy, but there are just some
things that I can't "fudge" to make look like they are there.

So, I'll start with this...I am trying to build a wall with arches
(one an art niche and the second a door alcove) with a fireplace
between the two. I found an arch molding, but the wall above it
disappears and I can't figure out how to install the fireplace block
into the wall.

Let me try to describe it better. It is an interior wall that is the
focus in the Great room. This wall hides a staircase running up the
back of it. 12' ceiling height x approx 20' long. I have the wall
divided into three sections (1: arch niche approx 2' 6" deep, 2: 36"
box (gas) fireplace approx 30" off floor with a 22" high x 20" deep x
48"long brick hearth seat, 3: archway that forms an alcove 2' 6" deep
to master bedroom double door [60"x 96"tall]) The arches mirror each
other -making a symmetrical wall. The whole wall will be stone veneer
with recessed niches and extruding stones instead of a mantel.

Then I have other questions about roof lines, but I'll save that for
another day.

All of your tutorials have helped me so much...now that I'm getting
more advanced, I find I need you help even more!

Thanks for any help!

Can you send pictures that might explain this?

I will try to...is there a way of saving an elevation as a .jpg or
something that you can look at in C.A.? I guess I can make a layout
page and dimension it. I also have it already drawn out in AutoCad
that I can send. Let me know how or which...Thanks for the quick
reply! This is really bugging me. Courtneay

I just saw your download of wall arches or niches...talk about
predestined responses...I have downloaded them and will check 'em out
tonight. I will still send you the info to get your take on it. Big
Thanks! Courtneay

Ok, did an elevation jpg and a floorplan dxf (?) and uploaded them to
the file page...PLEASE delete them off this forum after you look at
them, it's a little embarassing, the elevation looks like crap and my
wall heights keep changing. Everything should be 144" tall. Still
learning...Thanks! Courtneay P.S. I will send you the Autocad
elevation later...looks MUCh better as to what I'm trying to acheive.

Any thoughts on the arch/fireplace wall? When I first started
learning this program 4+ months ago, you had a video of how to do
exterior arches for a port de couche (sp?) using CAD lines and
arcs...it was above my experience level at the time, but now maybe I'd
understand it better. Do you still have it? Thanks Courtneay

It may have been one done by a guy who you had a link to...regardless,
I just watched the "kitchen pass through" video and think that answers
my question. I'll give it a try and let you know. Courtneay
