to Chico State Fencing Club
UPCOMING TOURNAMENTS:
The Santa Cruz Collegiate tournament is coming up on October 24th. If
you plan to attend please let us know so carpools and other travel
arrangements can be discussed. According to AskFred.net there will be
a Novice Foil section for people who have fenced for less than one
year. The novice section will be dry (you won't need any electrical
equipment). This is a great opportunity for all you new people to have
a chance to compete.
And on that note, we are in the final stages of getting jacket patches
designed. This means that if you go to a tournament, you earn the
right to sew an awesome Chico State Fencing patch on the sleeve of
your fencing jacket. Yes, it does have our wildcat mascot on it.
DUES:
If you have not paid your dues yet, please do so! Dues are $30 per
semester. Remember, you get three free practices to try out the club.
So unless your new, get your dues in as soon as possible. It costs
money to run the club but we do our best to keep things as cheap as
possible. Just compare our dues to any other sports club on campus to
see what we mean.
OTHER NEWS:
The full set of club equipment is once again in its rightful location
and will be available for people to use at every practice so there
will no longer be any equipment shortages. If you are interested in
buying your own equipment, please see the annotated list in our Google
group.
As a reminder to everyone, practice times are:
Wednesdays - 6:00-8:00pm Acker 202
Fridays - 6pm-8pm Shurmer Gym (Acker 202 on some days due to the
Ballroom Dance club)
Sundays - 5:00-8:00 Shurmer Gym
As the semester wears on, remember: fencing is great stress relief.
