The Chico Linguistics Society is still alive (or perhaps newly reborn)
and membership is swelling. Please post a message and let us all know
what you're working on.

I am trying to put together a Hmong version of Rosetta Stone, which
requires an official group with whom Fairfield Language Technologies
can correspond regarding the project. To that end, I am planning out
a group tentatively called the Hmong Language Preservation
Organization. I initially thought about going through the CSULC for
this, but I thought that that might muddy the waters of our charter a
bit.

I'm also looking for a masters program in typology, preferably a West-
coast school. If anybody knows of a good program, please let me
know. Finally, I'm teaching 7th and 8th grade English at Alicia
Intermediate School in Marysville.

I'm particularly interested in hearing more about Sandra Wright's
research on feminization trends in naming conventions in American
English.
