Each of the Dixie Chicks' studio albums -- Wide Open Spaces (1998), Fly (1999), Home (2002) and Taking The Long Way (2006) -- reached #1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart and each of them took home the Best Country Album Grammy® in their respective eligibility years. Following Wide Open Spaces' peak at #4 on the Billboard 200 in 1998, the next three consecutive Dixie Chicks album releases debuted at #1 on that chart. Wide Open Spaces went on to be certified 12x Platinum by the RIAA, who awarded the album its coveted Diamond status, in recognition of sales of more than 10 million pieces. Each of the Chicks' subsequent studio albums has also achieved multi-platinum status: Fly (7x Platinum), Home (6x Platinum), Taking The Long Way (2x Platinum).
When Taking The Long Way debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top 200 best-selling albums chart the week of its release, Dixie Chicks became the first female group in chart history to have three albums debut at #1, breaking the record they'd established themselves in 2002 when Home made them the first female group ever to have two albums debut in the top slot.
