Thank you for your interest in the City of Vancouver’s review of the
policies and guidelines and bylaws surrounding the keeping of backyard
hens.
A report on this subject will be presented to City Council at the
April 8, 2010, Planning & Environment Meeting. At this meeting,
Council will consider the proposed guidelines and parameters
surrounding the keeping of backyard hens. If these guidelines are
approved then a subsequent Public Hearing will be held (date TBD) at
which any necessary bylaw amendments will be reviewed.
The April 8 meeting takes place at 2:00pm in the Council Chambers at
City Hall, 453 West 12th Avenue, Vancouver.

Phone and email requests must be received no later than the day prior
for morning meetings and two hours prior for afternoon and evening
meetings. Requests can be made in person up to ten minutes prior to
the commencement of the meeting. If time permits, the meeting
chairperson may also invite unregistered attendees to speak.
