I've been advised that the Vancouver City Council has tentatively set
February 4, 2010 as the date at which it will consider the proposed
bylaw change which would permit the keeping of backyard hens in
Vancouver. It has been suggested that supporters of the bylaw change
should be available to the Council meeting and be prepared to speak in
support of the bylaw change. Please spread the word.
Thanks,
Dane

Thanks for sharing this Dane- this is great news!

We should create a Facebook group for disseminating the information and creating a rally in support of it. Are you able to do this?

That's right Justin - it has 240 members! I was thinking of establishing a specific Facebook event (not only having the generic group page). If someone is willing to provide me with the information for the CoV meeting and a gameplan for the lobbying I help post it as an event.

Great news! I'll put it up on Dailyeggs.com. I just noticed that
last week's Courier finally printed a letter I sent in in November:

Thanks for the update. Let's rally the troops!

Just regarding the facebook group - the group description reads "It's PASSED!!! Great job everyone - now we can have chickies :)"

I'm wondering if the group administrator might want to change this info because, as far as I understand, it's not accurate!

Done. Thanks for the heads up. I'm not very active on Facebook.
