I wanted to record bass and guitar on my mac, and now I can. job done. The hardware feels cheap but is OK in terms of function.
the software, from native instruments, looks nice and has a lot of potential, but is HORRIBLE to use, at least with garageband. when i have used it with recordings, it makes them very unstable, and crashes are almost a constant, so if i want a native instrument guitar amp, i save every 10 seconds just in case. no online support for that particular model which is understandable as its free i guess, but given that its a sprat to catch a mackerel I think its really poor from a marketing point of view.

I'm a Reason+ user and while I adore all the EDM plugins, I'm disappointed at the lack of apparent native support within Reason for guitar and bass effects and amp modeling. When I Google it I just come up with videos of guys staking loads of Reason effects and combos just to make a decent guitar sound. Am I missing something somewhere, or do I need to go third party? If I need to go 3rd party, is there something people recommend? Amp modelling and VST effects. My music is mainly electronic so I don't need anything that will break the bank.
