I'm not sure if it's possible to convert lst/bin format to be compatible with flycast, but I doubt it is (or if it is, if it's easy to do). I don't recall how hard it was to find naomi roms in the mame-style .zip format. I don't think it was super difficult, but it's been a long time since i looked for those types of roms, so it might be harder than I recall.

I don't recall how hard it was to find naomi roms in the mame-style .zip format. I don't think it was super difficult, but it's been a long time since i looked for those types of roms, so it might be harder than I recall.

The Naomi games will run no problem if i launch Retroarch outside of LB. Manually opening Retorarch and loading the core (flycast) and loading the content (the specific Naomi rom) from the mame rom folder .

Is there a way to separate the naomi roms from the mame roms, so it knows to use Retroarch emulator (when i'm using LB). Or a working around which doesn't involve me quitting LB and launching Retroarch just to run a few Naomi games.

I'm not certain. When i downloaded my naomi/atomiswave set it was just for those two systems (ie. not bundled with other mame games). So, I was able to import those games into their own systems in LB/BB and tell each to use Flycast via retroarch. If you imported the entire system as Mame, then the only thing I can think of is maybe run a filter to just show the Naomi games (source = naomi.cpp maybe might work?), select those games then edit the emulator for those games in LB to tell them to use Retroarch/Flycast if that's possible. Or, if needed select those games then select the export/copy rom files to new folder. Then import that new folder as Sega Naomi (and have retroarch/Flycast associated to that Sega Naomi system).

Did the bios files change? I dumped the awbios.zip into retroarch/system/dc ... the bios zip contains bios0.ic23 and bios1.ic23 Can you confirm if I'm using the correct bios that go with the Mame zip roms for Atomiswave?

I was able to find a bunch of NAOMI roms. None of them work. the Atomiswave roms I have run beautifully. The NAOMI roms don't run at all. I'm using lr-flycast built from source. One rom I have in particular (Virtual Striker 3) loads into the Dreamcast bios with the four icons ( controller, clock, music and memory card manager) but does nothing else. I have no idea how to get it to load the rom. If I use reicast, it ignores the rom completely also goes into Bios. and Redream shows only Dreamcast games. No Atomiswave or NAOMI roms.

I have a few hunches as to what could be wrong - I currently have a .zip file called naomi.zip in my System folder for Retroarch that contains several "BIOS FILES". I've found the same pack at several sites and so assumed it was fine but upon further inspection, I see that I need to rename an epr-21576h.bin to naomi_boot.bin.

The .zip I have does have a file called epr-21576h.ic27 but no epr-21576.bin. Is the .ic27 the same thing? It is in there with many other epr-21576/7/8(x).ic27 files and I am not sure if I need all of these as they are not mentioned in any of the troubleshooting topics I can find. Also, is it fine in the .ic27 format? Must it be renamed to be recognized? Is the file (if renamed) alright inside of a .zip archive or does Retroarch require it to be decompressed and placed in the System directory? Some help on understanding the various .ic27 files, their purpose, their relationship to the .bin file (to be renamed naomi_boot.bin), etc... would be helpeful.

For now, I will try to find an exact epr-21576h.bin (not .ic27) file and rename it to naomi_boot.bin and will try to remove any and all other references to Naomi from my Retroarch/System folder in case the Core is trying to load some other random file it is finding there. I'll also search for another ROM pack.

The naomi.zip file that I have appears to be a MAME BIOS file from at least version .154 or later and the .ic file that I was referencing in my previous post IS the correct one to be renamed to noami_boot.bin. With that said, I'd somehow had a copy in a /dc folder (which I see is how some suggest you do it) and another copy one level up from that in my /system folder. Cleaning these up did not fix the issue.

I'd read somewhere that someone just had to completely delete flycast from their Retroarch system and reinstall the core. Did this, updated everything in Retroarch. This did not resolve the issue.

Run NAOMI GD-ROM format games stored in MAME zip + chd format by running the zip file through RetroArch. The zip file should be stored in your roms folder with the chd file in a subdirectory of the roms folder named after the mame ID.

After installing Flycast Dojo, just add a valid NAOMI & Atomiswave BIOS (naomi.zip & awbios.zip) to your Fightcade\emulator\flycast\data directory, and add any valid ROM to your Fightcade\emulator\flycast\ROMs folder. For valid romset information, look at this FAQ question.

Outside of Fightcade, just open flycast.exe, choose between OFFLINE, HOST, JOIN, or TRAIN on the top left corner of the screen, then select your ROM of choice in the main menu.

For Fightcade-specific issues, the #flycast-emulator channel in the Fightcade Discord should be your first stop. For emulator-specific concerns, or just general chat, the Flycast Discord is available.

Any testing would be of great help before we include it with the next Fightcade update! To try out in Fightcade, just replace the contents of the Fightcade\emulator\flycast folder with this release. You can immediately test out the replay features by spectating or loading a replay from the Fightcade site. Be sure to keep a copy of your old flycast folder if you want to play with others who are not using the pre-release.
