Description

"Make no little plans; they have no magic to stir men's blood."

How many times have you been skating around Chicago, looked back at the skyline, the park system, or the lakefront and been struck by the city's sheer grace, elegance, and accessibility? Our next road rave celebrates the inspiration and planing of one of Chicago's principal visionaries, Daniel Burnham. It was exactly 100 years ago that his famous "Chicago Plan" was published setting in motion a wave of urban development that continues to stir our blood to this day.

Come out and join us as we celebrate the brilliance of the Burnham Plan which, 100 years later, touches our lives every day.

We will meet at Daley Plaza at 7:30 PM. SE Corner. From there we will skate 12 to 13 Miles and end at All Stars Bar and Grille on 555. West Madison (close to Metra and CTA).

This skate is organized by Skate Patrol. That means helmets are required. You will skate at your own risk and we follow all the traffic rules. Bring water. There will be none on the route.

This is an intermediate street skate. You need to be comfortable stopping. We skate on the street. Occasionally you will have to cross railroad tracks, step over potholes or over curbs. However, speed will be determined by the slowest skater and Skate Patrollers will watch out for everyone. Give it a try. It is tons of fun an THE best way to see the city!

Hey, the season's not over yet guys. We've still got a couple of good skates left in us and you aren't going to want to miss this one.

See you there!

Philip
