FLAT Coop is looking to fill an empty room opening July 1st.

THE HOUSE

FLAT is a cooperative house of 13 people in Rogers Park. As a group, we are currently renting both the basement/first floor unit and third floor unit of a three-flat. We have 13 bedrooms, 3 kitchens, 3 full bathrooms, 3 large commons rooms, laundry machines, workshop space, and a back yard. Our lease runs through May 31, 2014, with the possibility of subletting your room.

THE ROOM

We are currently looking for one person to fill an open room on our first floor. The rent is lower on this room than others in the house because it's a bit of an odd setup. To reach this room, you have to pass through another flatmate's room. It's a bit like having a roommate, but you still get a private space to yourself.

EXPENSES

Monthly-
Rent: $291
Utilities: ~$25
House Fund: $15

There is also a $500 security deposit.

Most coop members participate in a food plan where we buy common food and take turns cooking to eat three meals together each week. This is available on a sliding scale of $100 or $120 per month.

LIVING IN THE COOP

We invite people from all walks of life to participate in and shape our household. We make decisions by consensus and share common chores to clean and manage the house. We are interested in community building both in our house and the wider community. As a house, we enjoy biking, exploring, going out to bars, and playing games.

Within a few blocks of the coop:
- Shopping District
- A Market
- Movie Theater
- Book Store
- Coffee Shops
- Restaurants and Bars
- Loyola University
- Red Line
- Northwestern's intercampus shuttle
- CTA bus routes

INTERESTED?

Please email dcop...@gmail.com for our application. If you seem like a good fit, we'll invite you over to visit so you can see the house, meet us, and talk a little more about your interest in cooperative living.
