Right when we need it most, municipalities all over the country closed many mental health facilities. Chicago closed half of its facilities.
The cooperative opportunity: Form a worker-owed cooperative of the social service professionals in that industry: social workers, domestic violence counselors, child abuse counselors, housing counselors. Each professional could develop a client base of households to support with ongoing visits and communication tune ups.
How Crazy is That?
The people who can least afford it are the most likely to subsist on processed food bought at convenience stores.
The cooperative opportunity: Eating actual meals in safe, harmonious homes could go a long way to soothe an edgy populace. See PH/H, N-FIG, Dormitory Housing, Charming Walkable Villages.
