Just a quick check-in to update you on the status of speakers for May,
June, and July:
I'll be meeting early next week with representatives from Digital NPO
- http://digitalnpo.com to present at the May meeting. They do much
with implementing
open source software as well as overall communications via social
media; want to see if they also know anyone who does widget creation.
(I think it may be good
to see if they can provide a "QR Code 101" as well)
For June, I'm talking with Sarah Press of Communiteach (she's been to
several of our meetings in the past) - Learnapalooza, a one-day "open
source"
learning festival, is happening later that month. With our discussions
around helping build technological capacity and sharing resources, I'm
thinking it
might be good to have her talk about how members can share their
expertise...but also gain knowledge for no cost.
Finally, an old classmate of mine currently works with businesses
around ADA compliance issues, and when she and I last talked, we
discussed several
challenges in making software and websites accessible. (For example,
being able to make sites readable for visually impaired people). I'm
still trying to think
through the Net Tuesday hook (i.e., "Why should our members care?"),
so any private input would be appreciated.
June and July are also a little more tentative, so if we get a
resource that's a much clearer fit, let me know. Otherwise, I will
plan to either confirm or deny
Digital NPO's participation by Monday, and we should be good to go.
Thanks,
Gordon

No problem - nothing's set in stone with her, so I can easily let her
know that we'll change her for another date..
Touch base with me privately via e-mail to confirm - CMW is a
long-standing ally; this is easily fixable at my end.
Thanks,
