Net Tuesday - Found the Confusion/Next Steps

Just a heads-up: after doing a little digging on Meetup.com, discovered that our group was set up so that "members" could suggest meetups. Phillip Herrejon, who only recently joined, "suggested" his session as our Meetup. Since we did not have one scheduled, that became the default.
I went ahead and changed it so that only organizers could schedule Meetups. (I think we might want to consider moving away from Meetup.com - IMHO, it's becoming increasingly spammy, and I think we can put together a decent central site with open source tools (Word/BuddyPress, Drupal), with the only cost being purchasing a new domain.
Unfortunately, my ability to act as co-organizer is going to be very severely limited (I spoke with Michael M about this back in June). My mom's health is increasingly compromised, and between that and finding work, I just do not have as much time to dedicate as I would like. I'm more than willing to chime in when I can (like now), but it looks like our remaining co-organizers (Heidi, Vincent, and ?) will have to take up the slack. I realize this isn't ideal, but quite frankly - the whole point of having more than one co-organizer is to spread the work when situations like this happen. (I'm not stepping down; just taking a much more reduced role than I have over the past year)
My apologies, but thankfully, Pathfinder has stepped up to host. Since Heidi's in the same building anyway, she can act as point person for the August meeting.

For those of you not at last night's meetup, you missed a great one. Incredible conversation. Everyone sort of left feeling like they had really participated in something really cool. Check out Code Mountain and Code Academy...both are pretty hot.
