Our beloved Messenger Muḥammad ﷺ taught us to turn to Allāh Ta’āla in prayer when the Ummah faces any calamity. Whenever a calamity had befallen the Sahābah (ra), they would flock to the Masjid and beseech Allāh Ta’āla for His mercy, forgiveness, and help. For indeed, du'ā' is the weapon of a believer.
With the increase of calamities our Ummah is facing around the world (Palestine, Uyghur Muslims, Rohingya, Kashmir, Yemen, Afghanistan & elsewhere), and the attacks on Masjid al-Aqsa, I would like to call the Ummah of my beloved Messenger ﷺ to join me in prayer! Help me revive the #GlobalPrayer4Oppressed Qunūt al-nāzilah effort again!
With the help and permission of Allāh Ta'āla, in 2014 and 2016, I had organized the #GlobalPrayer4Oppressed Qunūt al-nāzilah effort after doing mashwara with Mufti Abdurrahman ibn Yusuf Mangera (UK), and receiving his generous support. Alhamdulillāh together, as an ummah, we were able to revive this sunnah in over 400 masājid in 21 different countries.
I started this effort in hopes that whenever a calamity befalls our Ummah, the first natural response of our community leaders, scholars, and masājid is to follow the sunnah of our beloved Messenger ﷺ, and to call all communities to join in prayer.

What is Our Excuse?
I came across a masjid in the Caribbean that does not have internet at all, so I could not send the Qunut al Nazila du'ā' file. The Imām was so eager to recite the #QunutalNazila du'ā' and participate in the #Globalprayer4Oppressed effort. His enthusiasm to make this du'ā' for our oppressed brothers and sisters was such that he requested me to call and read the du'ā' to him so he can memorize it and begin reading the du'ā' at his masjid! Allahu Akbar! This touched me so much knowing that there are people willing to make such efforts to revive this sunnah and make du'ā' for our brothers and sisters around the world. May Allāh subhānahu wa ta'āla bless this Imām and the masjid with His utmost blessings and beautiful acceptance. Āmīn! |
