Watch at 6 PM, Friday night as Father Jose Landaverde explains why we must march on May Day -- see him on CAN TV, cable channel 21 in Chicago.

The immigrant rights movement is at a critical juncture as the "Gang of 8" senators, including Illinois's Dick Durbin, look set to announce their proposed legislation for immigration "reform" within the next several days.

Already leaked is a proposal to force the undocumented to wait 10 years to finally get citizenship, and then only after paying onerous fines.

While President Obama proposed including provisions to treat same-sex, bi-national couples as equals for family naturalizations and green cards, his de facto Senate floor leader, Dick Durbin, left that out of the Gang of 8's proposals.  This follows a secret letter from Catholic bishops and other anti-gay bigots to Obama promising to oppose any immigration reform proposal that included provisions treating LGBT immigrants as equals to straights.  So is Obama saying he likes gays, while letting his floor leader throw us under the bus?

Finally, Obama is on track to soon become the largest deporter of the undocumented of any president in U.S. history.  Yet no where in his or the "Gang of 8" proposals is there a pledge to start a moratorium on deportations.

Watch Father Jose Landaverde discuss these and other issues on the Gay Liberation Network's TV program at 6:30 PM, Friday, April 12 on Cable Channel 21 in Chicago.

-- At 3 PM, we will march to Federal Plaza for another rally.
