Wednesday February 5 Alderman George Cardenas will introduce a resolution to
Protect Our Families to the Chicago
City Council, the resolution is to call President Obama to use his executive
powers to stop deportations and extend the deferred action to all undocumented
families.
The Alliance for Immigrant Rights will hold
a press conference before the introduction of ordinance at the second floor of
City Hall 121 N. LaSalle, at 9.30 am Wednesday February 5. At the Press Conference
Alderman Cardenas will address the importance to provide justice to
undocumented families that contribute to the wealth to the city.
The ordinance follow efforts of elected officials
in Los Angeles, San Francisco that already approved call the President to end
the humane crisis of division of families due to massive deportations during
the Obama administration creating a dramatic record of 2 million deportees.
