MEXICA POLITICAL ORGANIZATION and
a group of Latino leaders in Chicago announced a protest on Wednesday
February 16 at 4.30 pm in front of the headquarters of the mayoral
candidate Rahm Emanuel of Chicago, located at 22 S. State.
Polling results from various media
outlets show Emanuel with a lead of 49% of the overall support as well
as having wide support among the Latino community. These percentages
and media message are being disseminated to position Emanuel as if they
were already elected Mayor. In Chicago, voters elect their candidates
and not polling results. We are concerned that promoting this media
message it serves to misinform the Latino community discouraging it
from coming out and to vote because they think that Clinton and Obama
sent us to our "mayoral winner".
RAHM EMANUEL was the main architect who
stopped immigration reform in Washington and as the Chief of Staff of
President Obama the number of immigration raids and mass deportations
of Mexicans and Latinos increased breaking all records ever of
deportations in U.S. history. As an adviser to Bill Clinton he
also oversaw the passage of racist's anti-immigrant and draconian laws
that distress the country's history.
Rahm Emanuel said no to 11 million
undocumented people and split entire families and now he wants to divide
the communities here in Chicago.

LA ORGANIZACION POLITICA MEXICA y un grupo de
líderes latinos de Chicago anuncian una protesta para el miércoles 16
de Febrero a las 4.30 PM frente a las oficinas principales
del candidato a la alcaldía de Chicago Rahm Emanuel, localizada
en el 22 S. State.
Las encuestas de distintos medios de prensa dan a
Emanuel con un 49% de la preferencia del voto general y también lo
muestran como puntero en la comunidad Latina. Estas cifras
y el mensaje que se ha difundido por los medios electrónicos muestran a
Emanuel como si ya fuera el Alcalde electo.
En Chicago los votantes son los que eligen a sus
gobernantes y no las encuestas. Nos preocupa que esta promoción este
mal informando a la comunidad Latina, desanimando a los votantes
a votar, porque piensan que Clinton y Obama ya nos
mandaron a nuestro "salvador".
RAHM EMANUEL fue el arquitecto principal que detuvo la
reforma migratoria en Washington y bajo su cargo de Jefe de Gabinete
del Presidente Obama se incremento el numero de redadas y deportaciones
masivas contra los mexicanos y latinos rompiendo el record de
deportados en la historia de Estados Unidos. También fue asesor de Bill
Clinton que aprobó leyes racistas y
anti-inmigrantes que obscurecen la historia del país.
Rahm Emanuel le dijo NO A 11 millones de personas sin
documentos y dividió a familias enteras y ahora quiere dividir a las
comunidades aquí en Chicago.
