Right after the protesters in DC were arrested blocking a deportation bus, immigrant youth in Los Angeles started shutting down the downtown detention center.
Watch LIVE Using ladders and u-locks around their necks, protesters are blocking the entrance and exits where buses take people for longer detention or to the border to be deported. When the workday started in DC, the regional office there was shut down by 9 people locked together. As the sun comes up in Los Angeles, people are doing the same. It's the first day since the House closed its doors without passing any reform but ICE and deportations are still churning. It's another day when the President could stop the suffering and expand relief with the stroke of a pen. The movement for not one more deportation is only growing. Tune in to watch the action in LA LIVE now. Stay tuned for what's next, NDLON |
