Undocumented. Unafraid. Unapologetic. The National Coming Out of the Shadows Day was born in Chicago 2 years ago. If you have never been to a Coming Out event, do yourself a favor and make one of the following actions your first.

Monday March 12th, 2012: Undocu-Queer Coming Out
Community Gathering and Special Edition of Homofrecuencia focusing on the thoughts and experiences of gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans and queer immigrants.
6:00-7:00 PM Listen Live to Homofrecuencia, the only Spanish-language LGBTQ radio show
7:00-9:00 PM Community meeting and gathering, 1401 W. 18th Street

Thursday March 15th, 2012: Shout it Out in High School
An event organized with high school students to share our stories as undocumented immigrants in Chicago. Location TBD. Check back soon.

Friday March 16th, 2012: Coming Out in Dupage County
Dupage County in Illinois is known as one of the toughest areas for undocumented immigrants, due to their collaboration and enforcement of Secure Communities. Undocumented youth will be coming out for the first time, in front of the County Sheriff’s office.
