MAYAN CALENDAR NEWS: THE CYCLE COMES FULL CIRCLE.....HISTORY IN THE MAKING...SI SE PUEDE....!!!

 

OK MCN RAEDERS,

 

I have been reflecting on the intense election campaign going on right now. We are witnesses to history in the making. The first decade of the  21st Century has been a watershed time period for the Mexican community nationwide, and especially here in Chicago.

 

The wave of anti-Mexican/immigrant hostility, policies, raids and deportations have given a new sense of urgency to this election cycle. In 2001 the minutemen, the Republican party and other racist groups began their anti-Mexican offensive. It has resulted in the worse period of persecution for Mexican immigrants in modern history. Hundreds of thousands of families have been seperated; perhaps a million people have been deported from the USA. Families have been destroyed and immigrant workers have come under an intense wave of raids, detentions and persecution.

 

But...Gente....none of this has happened in a vacuum. The republican party and right wing democrats (like Dan Lipinski) have deliberately unleashed this wave of DOMESTIC STATE TERROR....to COVER UP THE IMMENSE WAVE OF OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT CORRUPTION.

 

Yes Gente, the Mexican immigrant worker was made the scapegoat for the economic crisis that the "powers that be" knew was coming. "They" knew it early in this past decade. The vast amount of corporate corruption that is at the core of the economic crisis, tax breaks for the wealthy, corporate welfare, cronyism and campaign financing have been the engines that have brought on the worse economic crisis ever in modern history. "They" knew it was coming and so they came up with a WEAPON OF MASS DISTRACTION.....the Mexican immigrant worker.

 

They have demonized the Mexican immigrant worker - laid the blame for all the ill's of the nation on "illegal aliens"..... the budget deficits, low wages, etc.....

 

It was working. The major energy/oil soaked/defense industry media fanned the flames of this hysteria.

 

It was working....until.....MARCH 10, 2006.

 

We took to the streets....in the millions.....all across the USA...WE....took to the streets.... and WE BEGAN TO REVERSE THE TIDE........TURN THE TABLES...ON THIS CABAL OF REPUBLICAN/RACIST AND RIGHT WING DEMOCRATS.....

 

And now here in Chicago...WE....ARE ON THE CUSP ONCE AGAIN OF MAKING HISTORY!  Yes, here in the Windy city, the City of Big Shoulders, that gave birth to the meaning of May Day and the labor movement....here .....when the Mexican and Immigrant community rose up in defiance of the "powers that be"..... Chicago....on Fenbruary 2nd 2010....the Mexican community will make history.... by taking mastery of it's own political destiny.

 

Political empowerment.....it has been the cause for the last 50 years at least...if not more.....Finally the Mexican community of Chicago will step into the mainstream of political maturity.....and seize control of the most important local political offices......fueled  by the energy, mission and defiance that emerged in 2006.

 

It's only a little less than four years..... when the streets of Chicago were filled with multitudes and the chant of SI SE PUEDE was heard everywhere.

 

Tomorrow....once again...the spirit of SI SE PUEDE will once again be reverberating throughout the streets of Chicago....at election polling places....as Mexican and immigrant voters come out to seize control of our political destiny. 

 

Can you hear it Gente? The chanting, the voices, the footsteps? SI SE PUEDE!!!

 

I AM EXHORTING EVERYONE TO COME OUT AND VOTE TOMORROW....TO ONCE AGAIN MAKE HISTORY......VOTE....FOR.....
