Why: To join thousands of immigrants and their allies to demand a Comprehensive Immigration Reform for All
Who: The Immigrant Workers Union, Immigrants and allies
Special Participation of Sandra Rybachek, Local Immigrant Leader, activist and Singer
Immigrant Workers Union and allies will organize a Vigil for the millions of families that are affected by the current broken immigration system and to send a message to US Representatives that a Comprehensive and Human reform is urgent to stop the current situation. “The time to fight for a fair immigration reform is now. Since 2006 we have been fighting actively to put an end to the endless misery and exploitation that our families are victims everyday" says Jorge Carrera president of the Immigrant Workers Union - "Of course, we want a reform and clearly the public opinion is in favor of one, however, there can be many types of reforms, even a reform that changes nothing or almost nothing for the 12 million undocumented workers and that is why I will go to Washington on April 10th, because we want a real reform that ends the current status quo where employers are using the current broken immigration system to create a by-de-facto pull of cheap, disposable labor. Simply put, we are workers, community members, family members we deserve to be treated as human beings"
"On April 10th, thousands will march in Washington, Only from Wisconsin 6 full buses has been sent to join to the national movement for Immigration Reform. We want to join our voices with those who will be asking for justice in Washington with a Vigil at the Capitol from 5:30pm." says Alex Gillis from Immigrant Workers Union - “we know there is a big opportunity to finally put an end to the humanity crisis. If you think about it, in any other country if you would say that 12 millions of men, women, and children are living without the right to work, higher education, healthcare or an Identification, it would be called a Human Catastrophe; well, this is what we have been living in USA for 17 years since the last reform in 1996, and we want a reform that put an end to this."
The immigrant workers union, will announce the details of the May Day Rally and explain why the organization thinks that the current talking on Immigration Reform could be deceive or even counterproductive if they do not start by forging permanent solutions for the 11 millions of families currently in the country.

La Unión de Trabajadores Inmigrantes, dará a conocer los detalles de la Marcha del Primero de Mayo y explicara por qué la organización piensa que las conversaciones actuales sobre la reforma migratoria podrían ser engañosas o incluso contraproducentes si no se inician mediante la creación de soluciones permanentes para los 11 millones de familias indocumentadas que viven en este momento en el país.
