Stop Racial Profiling. Stop 287(g) 

September 12, 2009

On the Mall—15th and Constitution St NW (near Smithsonian Metro)

3:30 -6:30 PM

Join day laborers from across the country in demanding an immediate termination to the controversial 287(g) program operated by the Department of Homeland Security. The program, which was recently expanded by DHS Secretary Janet Napolitano, relinquishes the power to enforce federal immigration law to local law enforcement and corrections agencies. It has resulted in the widespread use of pretextual traffic stops, racially motivated questioning, and unconstitutional searches and seizures primarily in communities of color. 

Help us send a clear message to President Obama: racial profiling is un-American. Stop the 287(g) program.
