Hi, Some 30 showed up for a press conference at Casa Aztlan against the Dream Act this morning, with Univsion in attendance. In case you don't know, the Dream Act is a bill sponsored by Senator Durbin and the Pentagon which would possibly enable undocumented youth to gain legal status if they serve in the   U.S. military and its illegal and unjust actions. There are other provisions, but that is the main aim of the bill, as Senator Durbin has pointed out. I can send you documentation  on that if you need it. This was sponsored by CAMI, La Otra, AFSC and several other groups opposed to the Dream Act.

Some 40 showed up at Milennium Park and the Sisters City Program, to oppose Chicago having Petach Tikva  as a sister city, a city in Israel that is built on land stolen from the Palestinians and that houses a major interrogation and torture center. Slogans also included End U.S. Aid to Israel, and Not Another Nickel, Another Dime for Israel's crimes. This was organized and endorsed by Palestine Solidarity Group, Chicagoans Against Apartheid in Israel, Jewish Voice for Peace, and several other groups. --Neal
