I guess as you can tell very few people, at least in the midwest play
the game. Most of those who were interested initially quit both here
and in the Milwaukee area, where I've also gone to play, because of
the rules. Having played around 12 games with the official rules I
can't say that I am a big fan of them either. Dust warfare is more of
a board game played without a board than a true wargame. As a game it
still can be fun just as long as you weren't expecting a wargame or
something grounded in reality but it's a complete muck up if you were.
At this point I know a lot of players who wanted a wargame are either
waiting for the Bolt action rules to come out in September so they can
use a modified version of them with regular WWII & Dust figures or
have been using other WW II weird wars games modified to include Dust
vehicles and figures. Personally I've played using modified Secrets of
the 3rd Reich rules, another weird wars rule set, and with Nuts' chain
reaction rules, both of which provided a better wargame.
