Conference 2009: Saturday Night Program
BACK TO THE FUTURE NIGHT
DYNAMIC & GUIDELINES
An integral part of Couples for Christ is fellowship and we wish to encourage and recognize our talents through fellowship as we gather on Saturday night of the Couples for Christ conference.
Saturday Evening, July 18th, 2009
Event: Back to the Future Night
Dynamic: A night to reminisce where the music and fashion from the 40’s to the 90’s will converge as we journey from the past to celebrate the future! Delegates are to come in full fashion inspired by the decade of their choice ranging from the 40’s to the 90’s.
Dance Competition: CFC’s Got Talent
Guidelines: Areas may enter the dance competition, CFC’s Got Talent!, performing a dance in a style/genre specific to a decade (40’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s, or 90’s).
1. Only the first 6 submissions (US & Canada) to the dance competition will perform on Saturday night. Choice of preferred decade to represent is on a first come, first serve basis. Please send requests to enter competition and choice of decade to am.vil...@gmail.com.
2. Each area shall choose canned music from their chosen decade. T hey will then prepare a 3 to 5 minute dance presentation set to their chosen song. The song should be joyful, uplifting, and upbeat. Songs may not be sexually suggestive or include vulgar lyrics. Performances should highlight specific, fashion, moves and styles of dancing characteristic of that genre.
3. Each group should consist of 2 to 15 performers only. Slots will be on a first come first serve basis.
4. All groups are requested to submit their choice of song, along with a copy of its lyrics by July 1, 2009 at the latest. Just fax it to the CFC Center at 626-358-9907 or email to am.vil...@gmail.com & rcor9...@aol.com (Attn: Maggie Villanueva or Ricky Coronel – CFC’s Got Talent).
5. Each group shall appoint a contact person that will coordinate with the Program Committee for all matters pertaining to this activity. Please submit his/her name when you submit the chosen song on or before July 1, 2009.
6. As in the past, we encourage the areas involved to give their best in their presentation, not just in their performance but in the use of costumes and props as well. These do not have to be expensive but should be really creative. Please ensure that your costumes should be modest (no tight-fitting pants/blouses, see-through clothes, etc.). Please take into consideration that spotlights may be used on you.
