Q: What are the Conference Dates?
A: 7th KFC Kids’ Village – July 15, 16 & 17
    15 CFC and CFC Youth Conference – July 17, 18 & 19

Q: Where is the Conference Venue?
A: The CFC North America (Eastern) Family Conference ’09 will be held at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign (UIUC).

Q: What is the exact address of the conference venue?
A: The main venue, which is the Foellinger Auditorium, is located at 709 S Mathews Ave, Urbana, IL

Q: Is the CFC Conference and the CFC Youth Conference separate, same weekend, same UIUC but at different venues running simultaneously?
A: No.  The CFC and CFC Youth Conference will be a combined “Family” Conference.  The talks will be tailored for both.  It could be that for a given talk, the 1st half will be given by an adult CFC member and the 2nd half given by a CFC Youth.  There may also be activities that will entail Father-Son, Mother-Daughter, Couple Coordinator-CFC Youth participation.  Program details are still being designed.

Q: How about the Saturday night fellowship, will this be also a joint CFC / CFC Youth activity?
A: No, for Saturday night, the CFC Youth and CFC will have separate activities at separate venues within the same university compound.

Q: What is the closest Airport?
A: Wilard Airport (Airport Code = ‘CMI’), a regional airport, is located at 11 Airport Road, Savoy, IL  61874, is about 2.8 miles from UIUC

Q: What are the other Airport options available?
A: Bloomington-Normal Regional Airport (BMI) – 51 miles
Chicago Midway Airport (MDW) – 131 miles
Chicago O’hare International Airport (ORD) – 155 miles
Indianapolis International Airport (IND) – 118 miles
Lambert-St. Louis International Airport (STL) – 184 miles

Q: If we’re flying to Chicago O’hare or Chicago Midway, how do we get to UIUC?
A: As host, we are trying to find good deals for rental cars.  We will let you know more about this once information becomes available so you can make your own rental car reservations at a discounted rate.

We are also thinking of arranging for a shuttle bus service from a pick-up location somewhere central to both the O’hare and Midway airports (i.e. a Parish) to leave Chicago at a specific time (i.e. 12 noon) on Friday and then bring the same passengers back to Chicago on Sunday.  We are still researching the cost per passenger for this option.  If you think this is something that you will be interested, please let us know in advance.  Please send email to:  transpo...@cfcillinois.org

Q: If I’m arriving several days early before the conference or staying for a few days after the conference to do some sight seeing of Chicago, will there be “hosting” provided by CFC Illinois members?
A: Please let us know of your hosting needs ASAP and we’ll try our best to accommodate you.  Send email to: hou...@cfcillinois.org

Q: How much is the conference fee?
A: $170.00 per person inclusive of dormitory style accommodation for 2 nights and 5 meals cafeteria buffet style – Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner for Saturday and Breakfast and Lunch for Sunday.

Q: How does the dorm accommodation looks like?  What’s the capacity for the room?
A: The youth will be assigned to a dorm with the other youth members and the CFC member with other CFC.  Most room have two singles beds for a double occupancy so in reality, a couple will be assigned to a room on their own.  There are rooms that are quadruple occupancy and these most likely will be assigned to the youth.

Q: What if I am bringing my kids with me to the CFC Conference?
A: A $30.00 registration fee is required for each child to cover Kids’ Watch for whole day Saturday and for cost of meals.  Please note that your child/children will be rooming with you so you will need to bring an extra sleeping bag for them.

Q: If I have a special need (i.e. a disability) that will make a dorm accommodation very inconvenient and difficult for me, can I book myself to a nearby hotel and attend the conference?  If so, is there a different price for just attending the conference with the 5 meals inclusive?
A: Please contact us to let us know of your special condition and we will work with you on your specific needs.  As it is, we do a have a contract obligation to fill up the rooms that have been assigned to us.

Q: How do I register to the CFC Conference?
A: Please click on the REGISTRATION link for details on how to register by mail or online.

Q: How do I register my CFC Youth son/daughter attending the conference with me?
A: Please go to http://cfcy.cfcillinois.org for CFC Youth registration and other details,.
