My name is Mads Campbell, and I am reaching out because I am currently partnering with Chapin Hall, a Chicago-based child welfare research and policy center, for my internship while pursuing my Master's in Social Work at UIC. As a policy fellow intern, one of my goals this semester is to collaborate with members of a Youth Advisory Board to assess the youth homelessness response systems in Chicago and suburban Cook County. This system assessment is funded by a Youth Homelessness System Improvement (YHSI) grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to the Illinois Collaboration on Youth (ICOY).
As part of this assessment, we are asking organizations that serve young people (18+) experiencing homelessness in Chicago or suburban Cook County to complete an online survey. The survey asks about the programs your organization offers and the young people your organization serves. It will take between 15 and 30 minutes to complete.
The YHSI Steering Committee and Youth Advisory Board will use the survey results to develop a strategic plan for improving the youth homelessness response systems in Chicago and suburban Cook County.
Feel free to forward the survey link to the person at your organization who is best positioned to respond to the survey. If someone in your organization has already completed the survey, thank you for your participation. You don't need to retake the survey.
We are looking for engagement from every organization we can, but specifically would like responses from; A Safe Haven, After School Matters, Aunt Martha's Youth Service Center, Breakthrough Urban Ministries, Bridge Youth, Casa Central, Chicago Hopes for Kids, Children's Place, Connections for the Homeless, Cornerstone Community Outreach, Facing Forward to End Homelessness, Fresh Path Inc, Heartland Alliance Health Center Uptown, Heartland Human Care Services, Housing Forward, Howard Brown Health, and La Casa Norte.
