Hey all,

I just got back from India, while there I decided to try and find fabrics to make pocket squares with. I ended up finding some really nice bleeding madras in New Delhi (I was assured it would keep bleeding and bleeding, so I'm kind of excited).

I'd like to turn them into pocket squares. Anyone have a good recommendation for a tailor (or maybe seamstress? I don't know the terminology too well) to do that? Anyone done that with fabric? I'd like to get each one done for a few bucks ideally. Also any recommendations on the type of stitching to do?

Any feedback appreciated, and after they're done I'd be glad to offer them up in exchange for blog posts or beers.

Regards,

Hey Roneesh,

Have you considered doing them yourself? I've actually done it before, and it's kind of a nice conversation piece when someone says, "I like your pocket square," and you can say, "I made it myself." What fabric are they? Cotton? It's really not hard, I can show you. And I might buy some fabric off you, if you have any to spare. Let me know!

Then you should spread the love to us ;)

I might have someone for you, let me poke around if you want a "pro" but this is a great starting point for DIY.

Would tomorrow night be too soon? Wednesday and Thursday are out for me, and Tuesday is doable with some difficulty. Otherwise, we may have to wait until the weekend after Easter. Thoughts?

If you want to get a sewing machine, that's fine, too, but I just got a little sewing kit from Joan Fabrics for like $5. So I could do in the week or the first weekend of April. Which works for you? Should we make it a group thing?

Hey Kyle,

I was going to catch up with a friend on some work Monday night, but I asked him if he can switch to Tuesday. If not then we can get together after Easter weekend.

If so I'll let you know and head to your place.

Where are you located? I'm in Lincoln Park, near Sheffield and Webster.

I'll let you know as soon as I hear from my friend.
