Been listening to malifaux podcasts all day about 2.0.  I just had to say I couldn't be more excited and I'm so looking forward to the public beta.  I can't wait!

I like what the testers have been privy to so far. It IS a big change. But it kinda works and it allows for some better balance between crews.  It is not all smiles and sunshine.  But I am not opposed to change.

2.0 is the devil...run run

Honestly I have some gripes with the new edition but overall the game does need a rehash in a lot of ways.  I am hoping it comes out well.

"There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: “The Lord of the Rings” and “Atlas Shrugged.” One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs."

I'm pretty excited for this, and cannot wait to check out the rules.

I'm hoping they do an anima tactics type thing with regards to summons. Stability checks, if you lose it you take wounds. That should calm down certain crews.

I can safely say that the direction the game is going is very good so far :)

Except for strategies and schemes; those still need much work.

Heheh, OK Brett, I will be practicing just to overcome that damn FC army!!  I missed out on Adepticon, but I refuse to not find a way past those crazy shenanigans!!  Congrats btw!  What was Gruesome's and Raoul's crew's they took?  The Adepticon sight is still not listing crews used.

Good to hear. I feel like I'm in horseville, surrounded by all these naysayers! (wordplay!)  I (with no evidence to back it up)  feel like this can only be a positive thing, as it was with Hormachine MkII, re-infusing the game with freshness.  I'm excited to get my hands on this stuff.

Gruesome and Korrosion (David and Raoul) ran Yan Lo / Nicodem with an empowered Izamu.  Not sure which crews variations they chose for Adepticon as I missed it but they beat up enough on me while prepping to know that the masters, and infamous minion were played probably along with soul porter, grave spirit, a bunch-o-dawgs and chiaki in case of mirror match if I had to guess.

GAAAAAAGH, that's just sounds horrid!! I was planning on bringing Death Rider and dual Shikomes to drag Nicodem to his doom.  Dan Morrison has shown me more times than not that a Nursed up Izamu can just be plain stupid to have to deal with.  That is until I had a chance awhile ago to Introduce Zoraida to his Chiaki, The sweet niece took out the soul porter for me turn one.

I am cautiously optimistic about 2.0. I have listened to a podcast. The designers seem interested in making the game playable for a wider player base. I've also seen some of the rules, and they have some rough edges. So, I want to see how things turn out.
There have been other companies (GW, cough, cough) that seem to use new editions to get more out of their existing player base.
I'd rather see companies go in the opposite direction, which seems to be the Wyrd approach.

yes this is the case. so wyrd is balancing things out so models that people never used to use are more usable in comparison to the most popularly used models. in the second version, model reworks are being put in place so that models are not wasted or that people think they wasted money on a useless model

I like this a lot.  There are so many cool looking models that just plain ol' suck.  At least they will get their chance to shine.
