Remember everyone that the webcart closes Friday. So, make sure to get registered before then. Also, if you want to get into the M2E Story Encounter, you can buy a 1.5 Story Encounter ticket and choose at the judges table when you sign in. Same if you have an M2E and change your mind to 1.5.

I did finally get confirmation of prize support from Wyrd. But, can always use more. If you have the ear of a store owner who would like to donate to the events, let me know. Games Plus is going to provide support once the Auction fever has calmed down. Plus I have a few goodies from  Brett and my own Henchman boxes.

I did tweak some of the schemes and rules a tiny bit to avoid repition of schemes in an event as much as possible. so, make sure you check them out. plus all the strategies are up there as well.  so, make sure to check out everything to make sure you are aware of the changes.

What is the strategy for Round 4 of the team tournament? I see schemes but no strategy.

Yes, explain that. And there better be a good reason...

Because there are numerous rules that reference friendly models that would basically make them unplayable given the requirements.

And most importantly because I made it that way.

Yeah, please go into some detail. This is a completely new change to Teams that I feel came out of no where. The entire point of teams, I felt, was to find the combo's and now we're just playing
two small crews that happen to be the same faction. Hell, if they aren't friendly to each other then there is 0 point to even needing them to be in the same faction.
Why are the lists set then? They don't need to be. Almost nothing about the team games makes sense if the teams are friendly.

So are you ignoring us or what? We have real concerns about how this affects team play, and we legitimately would like to know why team members crews are not considered friendly...

Sorry. Not ignoring. Greg and I spoke about it as he is the Head Judge for that event and had not noticed the ruling in mid Feb when I posted the original wording.  He requested a couple days to dwell on it and find something he can work with. Plan on an answer by Wednesday.

Being as I may very well be bringing Torakage NOT having my team mate's models being considered "friendly" actually works in my favor.....

There are other instances like this and where the inverse is true. Which is why I made the ruling as I did. But, the points brought up are valid and we need to look at which option screws less people. Unfortunately, someone will end up being wronged no matter which way we go unless we make a case by case ruling which is just unwieldy. But, I will back whichever way Greg chooses to go.

I am reviewing the Team Tournament rules, and in particular the "Friendly" rule. It is clear that it will not work as written, but what change is needed, I am still working on. Most of my weekend that is not chores will be on this question.

I always sort of viewed the team event as somewhat more laid back than this seems to be…

Clearly the only logical solution is a knife fight.  Sean and Joe,  pick your champions and meet at the Circle of Death at dawn.

If models in crews on the same team are not friendly how will a team ever complete a scheme? If the crews are not friendly, then scheme markers are not friendly. It will be like two halves of a team trying to each complete the same scheme at the same time... How is that at all the theme of a team game? Just leave it as it used to be so we can stop worrying about "balancing" teams. It is supposed to be fun games with a friend to wombo combo on other bros with silly dumb synergies.

Victor why do you need to go first this turn?

Because there is something I need to do right now.

Victor what kind of opening move was that?

I don't know it sounded better in my mind.

I also have an issue with how some teams will have a real advantage because of natural synergy over others if you remove friendly. If teams are not friendly than Pandora and dreamer for instance are ahead of the rest because dreamers wp debuff is a natural aid to Pandora and her wp attacks. Some teams work by boosting each other and others work by debuffing. Denying friendly is basically saying debuff teams get an advantage since they interact more with the enemy then with their allies.

Also justen is right.... I do... (sinister grin)

Joe and Justen and anyone else,

The rule will be changing and it will be very close to how it has always been. I am still investigating all potential interactions. I will accept any specific, detailed concerns for or against by direct email between now and midnight Tuesday.

I fully support having this settled in a fight, just as long as I don't get dragged into a knife fight too!

When we had signed up for the event we figured it would have us considered friendly to each other. It isn't a game breaker for us either way, if we are friendly we get one bonus if allied we get others. We figure we just want an excuse to play Malifaux all day.

Game wise, I don't think the games are going to that thrown off by whether scheme markers are friendly that by us really having little chance of seeing a fourth turn in two hours. We have to choose our schemes based on not finishing games. Even with minimal shenanigans, we aren't going to play and enjoy a seventy stone game with four players in two hours- ain't happening!
