Hey yeah!  Just got back from that event.  Great to meet our fan base, and by that I mean the one fan who showed up.

Versu is really cool -- I was a beta tester for emily.  Didn't realize she was demoing.

I'd love to see you guys again.  I'll be in NYC this coming Thursday for about 9 days, rehearsing our latest musical off-broadway.  Then I'm back.

Hope this doesn't embarrass you, Ben, to see a 5 year old video, but I
like what I see just 5 minutes in. And I think a lot of this can even
apply to writing a text adventure...not just corporate or big-scale
software. I'd say there's so much you don't have to be brilliant to
figure out, with Twine (especially) or Inform 7. Even communicating with
testers or establishing trust with someone for reciprocal testing is
important and fun and rewarding.

I'd like to meet up, too. I'm a bit text adventured out, playing through
the other IFComp authors' games, and I don't want to bend Rule 5 too
much online or off, but it would be neat to see others' projects.

Was thinking the same - IF crew meetup is past due. Haven't started the comp games, but hope to this week. Like Ben, I'm also out of town for the next couple weeks rehearsing my latest musical. OK, maybe not unless I start singing my Office 2010 training. But I'm in London (uh-oh - now that I've mentioned that I will probably have to buy a book for Ed - let me know!) for work, anyway...

How about Thursday October 24th, IF Comp discussion/recap and other topics, at Filter, with the lead pipe?

November 7th works for me, too. I was feeling a bit gamed out from finishing all the entries, anyway.

Emily Short has just put a recommended list up, by the way, if you want to look at a few. http://emshort.wordpress.com/2013/10/22/if-comp-2013-roundup/ but I won't say more because rule 5 etc.

Also, if people want to play one of the entries together, a few quick and fun comp games not on the list above would fit that bill.
