Still on for 8.

IF Summit sounds interesting. Is this one of the things I should/would know about from GooglePlus?

Subject: No Show Conference in July

Hi! This message is going out to, roughly, everybody I know who participated in IF events at PAX East 2010/2011. Except not actually everybody, because I'm sending this to the PRIF mailing list too... only some of you are on that already... and I must have missed some names...
plus I added some more names... look, it's late.

As I hope you have heard, Courtney Stanton (Boston organizey person, co-author of "A Scurvy of Wonders" at the PAX SpeedIF, etc) is organizing a small game-design (game-studies, game-discussion) conference in Boston,
the weekend of July 14-15. I have proposed this to be the focus of the 2012 Interactive Fiction Meetup, Summit, and Pow-Wow.

Web site: http://noshowconf.com/

This conference is somewhat more expensive than PAX, but nowhere near GDC's horrific levels. I am hoping that $165 (or $45 for the hang-out-
with-us pass) will not prove to be a barrier to IF fans.

Momentum and hopes can only carry us so far; it's time to make some declarations. Do you want, expect, or plan to attend this event?
Please let me know. (Even better, register on the site.)

Are you interested in doing a presentation or talk? NoShowConf operates on a "no panel discussions" plan, but all sorts of other things are cool.
Note that Courtney wants speaker proposals in this week. (Yes, it's all turning into a rush. Sorry.)

Do you want to contribute something to the Demo Hall? This is explicitly modelled on Emily's IF Demo Fair last year.

I would like to start making definitive announcements -- as in "yes, this is the weekend, this is the place, IF folks will be around" -- very soon.
Comments welcome.

I won't be able to be there this evening.  I have a reception I have to go to for work.  --Jeremy

Having kid bedtime crises, I'm stuck here indefinitely. :-/

Booo. Alright. If Andrew shows up in the next fifteen minutes, we'll chat, but I'm sad about this. I had lots to discuss.

It's definitely sad. The IF summit is so tempting, too.

Sort of based on something Andrew just said: would there be interest in doing a sort of round robin small scale chi-if compilation? The premise: we all come up with one or two sentence game ideas, and someone else implements them with their own point of view? Thoughts?

Sorry I missed. I called in sick to work and as I teach Gabriel, if you're too sick to go to school you're too sick to go out to play.
